Jefferson City, Tenn- The Eagles travel to the University of the Cumberlands this Saturday at 9am, to face the host school, Reinhardt, and Tennessee Wesleyan.

"I expect to see some improvement in some of the things we've been working on." coach Jean Love said, "I think that we are starting to hit our strides in some of our doubles combinations, not only for this competition but looking into the Spring as well."

Carson-Newman is looking to turn things around this season after finishing with an overall record of 6-14. The Eagles return their number one singles player in JP Oliveira (8-11).

Carson-Newman lost all three matches against University of the Cumberlands 4-5, Reinhardt 1-8, and Tennessee Wesleyan 2-7.  

The University of the Cumberlands Men's Tennis team finished last season 14th in the NAIA Coach's Poll, with an overall record of 13-8. The Patriots made it to the Second Round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament.  

They return there top two singles players in Ariez Heshaam (12-6) at number one and Daniel Butcher (7-6) at number two.

The Patriots went 2-1 against tournament opponents this weekend. They had victories against Carson-Newman 5-4, Reinhardt 5-3, and lost to Tennessee Wesleyan 3-5.

Reinhardt is coming off another Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship with an overall record of 14-4.

Reinhardt returns four First-Team AAC players Maksim Yorsh, Fabio Pereira, Emory Deloach, and Nikita Hrynov.

Reinhardt went 2-1 against this weekend's competition with wins against Carson-Newman 8-1, Tennessee Wesleyan 5-3, and a loss to University of the Cumberlands 3-5.

Tennessee Wesleyan finished 24th in the NAIA Coach's Poll with an overall record of 18-4.

Tennessee Wesleyan returns Frederico Staksrud the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

The Bulldogs went 2-1 against this weekend's competition with victories against Carson-Newman 7-2, University of the Cumberlands 5-3, and a loss against Reinhardt 3-5.
