                  Eagles Competitive in University of the Cumberlands Tournament

Williamsburg, KY – Carson-Newman Men's tennis teams put forth a great showing in the University of the Cumberlands Tournament on Saturday, against Cumberlands, Reinhardt, and Tennessee Wesleyan.

"Overall I'm pleased with how we competed today," head coach Jean Love said, "Several men made the finals of their flight in singles and doubles and we won some of those flights."
JP Oliveira and Gabriel Dabdab picked up a victory in #1 doubles against Tennessee Wesleyan, before falling to Reinhardt in the finals of their flight.
Stefano Daza and Marc Bantel collected a victory at #2 doubles for the Eagles against Tennessee Wesleyan, but also fell to Reinhardt in the final.
JP Oliverira won his semifinals match against Tennessee Wesleyan 7-5, 6-3. Later in the day he would fall in the finals of his flight to Rhinehardt 6-4, 6-4.
Marc Bantel picked up a victory at #2 singles against Cumberlands 6-2, 6-2. Stefano Daza would take both of his opponents three sets, defeating the Cumberlands 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 and then falling to Rhinehardt 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.
Gabriel Dabdab had a victory against the Cumberlands at #4 singles 6-7(5), 7-5, 11-9. Then falling in the finals 6-3, 6-3. Taylor Barie and Joey Stiles each picked up victories at #6 and #7 singles.
After the match coach Jean Love said, "The competition was tough and I liked what I saw from our guys today."
This is the final match of the Fall season for the Eagles.
