JEFFERSON CITY—The Eagles take part in their first of two fall contests as they are set to participate in the Reinhardt Tournament this weekend in Canton, Ga.
The fall tournament serves as a chance for individual play to improve without affecting the overall team's record. It also gives a chance for coach Jean Love to experiment with her doubles teams and to let the returners see where they are after offseason training.
"This tournament gives our returners, who have been working on some things, a chance to play against outside competition," Love said. "Hopefully it shows that our games have taken a step up and that we have been doing the right things in the offseason."
Carson-Newman will begin play at 1 p.m. on Friday.
