JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Senior setter Kristen Pickett (Cleveland, Tenn.) added to her hardware shelf by taking in national recognition from Women Play Ball as the Division II Athlete of the Week.

Pickett leads the South Atlantic Conference with 10.07 assists per set this year and has seen that number leap to 10.42 in league play. Her 26 service aces this year are the fourth-most of anyone in the SAC.

The Cleveland, Tenn. native is focused on the overall consistency of the team as she quarterbacks the Eagles attack.

"We had ups and downs throughout the entire week," Pickett said of the team's effort last week. "I think we need to stay more consistent. That's what we have been working on."

Against the Railsplitters, Pickett notched 37 assists and eight digs. At Anderson, the senior setter tallied her team-leading seventh double-double of the year with 37 assists and 12 digs. To conclude the week, the Cleveland, Tenn. native racked up 38 assists, nine digs and one solo block. Pickett has now piled up 30 or more assists on 13 occasions.

Pickett is the fourth Carson-Newman female athlete to win the award last year over the last year joining former women's basketball player Chante' Markus and softball player Kelli Hensley and second volleyball player this season to earn the award joining teammate Rachel Harper. Women Play Ball is an organization dedicated to female athletics.
