Eagles Look to Rebound on Sunday, Square Off with Fairmont State

FAIRMONT, W. Va. – Carson-Newman (1-2) looks to round out the road trip on a high note, facing off with Fairmont State (0-0) on Saturday evening.

Coming into the season, the Falcons sit 2nd in the Mountain East preseason poll, behind the favorite in No. 17 Charleston.

Fairmont State boasts a solid singles mark from a year ago, finishing the 2023 season at 13-9 in singles play. The Falcons had most of their success in doubles with a 10-2 record.

The Eagles will look to get their second win of the season on Sunday, and a couple of Eagles will come in fresh after an unexpected day off on Saturday.

Due to time, Leah McBride, Julia Speiser, and the doubles pairing of Anita Chornei and Speiser did not see the court. With some fresh legs, C-N will look to its No. 4 and 6 singles players to provide solid performances to take down a talented Fairmont State squad.

The Eagles and the Falcons take the court on Saturday in Fairmont, West Virginia.
