LEXINGTON, Ky. - Carson-Newman's indoor volleyball program has been presented with the 2023 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, the AVCA announced in late July. 

This marks the second time in the last three years Carson-Newman has brought home the accolade.  

Started for the 1992-93 academic year, the award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The Eagles are one of the 161 Division II women's volleyball programs to be distinguished for the year.

Of the 20 players on the roster, 17 recorded a GPA of at least 3.0 with eight posting an average of 3.7 or better.
