JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman (12-15, 9-6 SAC) will honor eight seniors on Friday night directly before a SAC matchup with Coker (3-20, 0-15 SAC), set for a 6 pm first serve.
The Eagles will honor Skylor Weaver (Katy, TX), Julia Wheeler (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), Mckenna Hall (Bristol, Wis.) Emmagrace Cobb (Greensboro, N.C), Carlee Allbaugh (Tallahassee, Fla.), Ella Gay (Johnson City, Tenn.), Taylor Keeran (Galion, Ohio), and Madison Fisher (Ocala, Fla.) during the pregame ceremony.
Friday night will mark the first meeting between Carson-Newman and Coker this season. The Cobras have not beaten the Eagles since Oct. 2018 in Hartsville, S.C.
C-N is 13-3 against the Cobras since their first matchup in 2013. The Eagles are 6-1 against Coker in Holt Fieldhouse, with their only loss in Mossy Creek occurring in 2016.
Ashley Tiernan has led her squad to six dominating performances in Holt Fieldhouse this season, and only one loss.
Coker currently sits last in the SAC volleyball standings, after dropping every conference match this season. The Cobras held a 19 game losing streak before their most recent matchup against Tennessee Wesleyan on Oct. 31, which marked only their third total win this season.
The Cobras rank last in the SAC in aces per set (.99), assists per set (8.71), blocks per set (1.49), hitting percentage (.106), kills per set (9.40), and team kills (752). They fall ninth in team digs (1,261).
Junior Libero Meadow Morse is ranked third in the league in digs per set (4.48) and total digs (345). Only one other Coker athlete is ranked in the top twenty in the conference for any category. Outside hitter Elif Hazar Kayan is 16th for attacks per set (7.87). Julia Wheeler leads the conference in this category with an average of 12.49 attacks per set.
