Eagles Excel at Day One of VMI Winter Classic

LEXINGTON, Va. - Devon Moore wins again as three new personal records are set in Lexington. 

Moore won another preliminary round match with a heat winning time of 6.86 seconds. Sterling Melancon continued his great start at Carson-Newman, finishing third with a time of 6.94 secconds. Joseph Oreva did not qualify for the finals, but did set a personal best time of 7.12 seconds and an 18th place finish in his first run with the Eagles.

In the 60 meter run, both Amanda Lowe and Tia Davis advanced to tomorrow's final section. Lowe finished third with a 7.79 second run, while Davis' run of 7.83 seconds was good enough for a fourth place finish and a new personal best.

In the 400 meter run, Isaiah Weasby finished fourth with a time of 49.99 seconds while KJ Laribo set a new personal best with an eighth place finish and a time of 50.88 seconds.

The Eagles will finish up the weekend in Lexington tomorrow, Feb. 13.
