7-3 final score, 21 consecutive wins

NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Carson-Newman (5-4-2, 4-1-2 SAC) men's soccer team defeated Newberry (4-7-1, 2-4-1 SAC) 7-3 for its 21 straight victory against the Wolves.

Fifteen minutes into the game, center back James Ward (England) scored his first goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead for the Eagles with a header goal off a corner kick taken by Lucas Siqueira (Brazil).

Siqueira put in a goal of his own eight minutes later on a penalty kick.

Seconds after the restart from Siqueira's PK, Marius Staalby (Norway) scored his third goal of the year tying him with Sindre Welo (Norway) for second on the team in points with 11.

Lucas Ferreira put Newberry on the board in the 40th minute. Two minutes into second half, Nick Rembowski set the score at 3-2.

In the 59th minute, Staalby assisted fullback Alex Naric (Germany) in his third goal of the season and tonight's game-winner securing a two goal lead for C-N. Naric now leads the team in game-winners with two.

Senior Joao Dowsley (Brazil) assisted fellow senior Nico Noll (Germany) in the Eagles fifth goal of the match. Robert Wagner (Germany) supplied C-N's sixth point sixteen minutes later.

With four minutes remaining in the match, Noll scored Carson-Newman's seventh and final goal, his third on the year. Three minutes later, Newberry's Sam Lacey finalized the score 7-3.
