JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The fall portion of the 2017 schedule for head coach Suzanne Strudwick and the Carson-Newman women's golf team was announced on Wednesday.

Coach Strudwick and her club have four tournaments ahead of them with three happening in Tennessee.

The season begins in Bristol, Tenn. in late September for the King Invitational. After a first-place finish last year in the team's first showing in the tournament, Strudwick hopes the late start to the fall portion of the year will help her team repeat and start off strong.

"The feedback I got from the team last year was that we started a little early, so it didn't give the girls enough time to really get prepared," Strudwick said. "This year, we're going to have a good solid two weeks of practice before that first event."

The month of October features three tournaments filled with strong competition for the Eagles. The team will travel to Salisbury, N.C. for its only out-of-state event in autumn, the Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba.

"That will encompass our South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia teams in our region so I'm looking forward to that one," Strudwick said.

C-N will close out the fall slate with trips to Middle and West Tennessee for the Trevecca Invitational on Oct. 23 and 24 followed by the Christian Brothers University Super Regional Preview on Oct. 30 and 31.

"We have quite a wealth of talent and team coming from Middle Tennessee and so my team the past couple of years in recruiting has really come in from that Middle Tennessee area," Coach Strudwick said. "One of my other reasons for going there is we are going to go back to the heart of where these girls are from, and that's going to be a lot of fun."

The Eagles return seven players to the squad this season including a reigning South Atlantic Conference tournament champion in senior Elizabeth England.
