Day Two Results

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – Improvements from Elizabeth England and Taylor Hayes pushed the Eagles to shave seven strokes off of their score from Monday to seize an overall score of 615 en route to a second place finish on Tuesday at the Old Hickory Country Club.

After entering the final round at a tie for 23rd, England and Hayes were identical in their outings for a second straight day, both shooting +2 on Tuesday to finish with a team-leading 8-over total of 154, good enough for an eighth-place finish.

"I am so proud of my team," head coach Suzanne Strudwick said. "We have depth and talent which is a coach's dream."

Freshman Matilda Frovenholt shot a 6-over round of 78 on Tuesday to land in a tie for 13th on the leaderboard with a total of 155. She was +11 for the tournament, shooting even for par 3 scoring, one of four participants to shoot even at the par.

Freshman Jayla Sims was four shots lower than her team-leading score on Monday, shooting a round of 80 in the second day for a 10+ overall score of 156. Reagan Kinnie's duplicate rounds of 78 placed her at 17th on the leaderboard alongside Sims to round out the Eagles' scoring.

The University of Indianapolis won the tournament as the team shot a round of 295 on Tuesday to accompany its Monday lead, closing out at +19 with a total of 595. Grand Valley State moved down one spot on the leaderboard from Monday to take the third place finish. The team shot a 313 on the second day for a 616 total at +40.

Katie Chipman of Grand Valley State stayed at top of the individual race to be named the overall champion with a 1-over 145 at the end of Tuesday. Katharina Keilich and Annika Haynes of Indianapolis tied for second with +2 totals of 146.

"To beat some top teams is huge for us," Strudwick mentioned.

The Eagles have a quick turnaround for their next tournament to close out the fall schedule. The team heads to Memphis, Tenn. for the Christian Brothers University Super Regional Preview at the Germantown Country Club. The two-day event will take place Oct. 30 and 31.
