JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Beach Volleyball sweeps the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers 5-0 in both matches on Senior Day.

The Eagles honored three seniors prior to today's matchup with Spartanburg Methodist, which kicked off at 12:00 p.m. Kylee Oldenburger, Jenny Ille, and Kat Nelson were the three seniors honored today.

"Kat and Jenny have been here for so long, and this is their fourth year in the program," said head coach Cat Collins. "They are the first class that I've had all the way through that were my recruits. They embody our program and have created such a great culture with this team. Kylee adds to it, and she is great; we wish she was with us longer. It's a great day to be able to honor them and all that they've done for us."

Carson-Newman went on a tear against the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers in both matches, sweeping the Pioneers 5-0 in each.

"Today was so exciting, and this team means so much to me," said Jenny Ille. "It was cool seeing the stuff they did for us seniors, and getting to play with my partner was a lot of fun."

Jenny ranks fourth in Carson-Newman history for career wins. She has seen playing time since arriving at Mossy Creek, starting her career in the fives pair and working her way up to the ones pair. She is also in the top 10 for season records with 20 wins.

"It was fun getting to play today with our partners," said Kat Nelson. "I'm very grateful to be a part of it, and that we had a fun day together."

Kat Nelson is currently in the top 20 for career wins and winning percentage. She continues to climb the record ladder this season as her winning percentage approaches .600 with each game.

"I'm grateful for the year that I've had with everyone," said Kylee Oldenburger. "Just how close each and every one of us are, and I really loved getting to celebrate that."

Carson-Newman currently sits atop the SAC/CC conference rankings and is undefeated in conference play (7-0).

The Eagles' next and final regular-season test will come when they welcome Catawba, Erskine, Emmanuel, and Wingate to Mossy Creek for the second Conference Weekend on Friday, April 4-5, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
