SAC Tournament Quarterfinal Pushed Back to Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The South Atlantic Conference announced that the 2012 SAC Soccer Championship quarterfinals will be moved from Tuesday to Wednesday Oct. 31 due to pending inclement weather, meaning that Carson-Newman's game against Lenoir-Rhyne will now be played at McCown Field at 4 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles (7-5-3, 5-1-3 South Atlantic Conference) finished second in the SAC regular season standings, giving Carson-Newman a second seed in the conference tournament. Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne fought to a double-overtime 1-1 draw in the only meeting between the schools this season on Oct. 13 in Hickory, N.C.

The winner of this match moves on to the 2012 Food Lion SAC Soccer Championship Semifinals, which will be played on Friday Nov. 1 at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. The final will be played Sunday at 4 p.m. in Rock Hill.
