JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (2-5-3, 1-3-1 SAC) continues South Atlantic Conference play when it plays host to #23 Lincoln Memorial (6-2-2, 3-2-1 SAC) Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
Carson-Newman continues an October stretch where three of its next four games are within the friendly confines of McCown Field. This season, the Eagles are 1-2-2 at home, having lost back to back matches. Under Stephen Lyons, C-N is 32-17-11 at home since 2017. Since 1990, Carson-Newman has compiled a 185-89-26 record playing on the banks of Mossy Creek.
For the first time since 2017, Carson-Newman will face three ranked teams in the same season. The Eagles went 1-2 in 2017 and are 0-1-1 against the pair of top five teams they have faced so far this season. C-N has beat a ranked team at home in two of the past three seasons.

Six of the past eight meetings have been decided by one goal.
Lincoln Memorial heads to Mossy Creek as a ranked team, thanks to a 6-2-2 record, having won three games in a row as well. LMU is ranked #23 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, appearing in the poll for the first time this season.
The Railsplitters began the season unbeaten in their first four matches going 3-0-1, highlighted by a win versus #15 Indianapolis. They struggled at the end of September, losing two of their next three matches to Lenoir-Rhyne and Coker, allowing nine goals in those three contests they failed to win. October has been a different story, with three straight wins versus Wingate, Tusculum and Newberry, outscoring the opponent 5-1 in those wins combined.
Tom Gillette's team is 3-2-1 in South Atlantic Conference action, good for ten points which is third in the league. Four of their six league games have been at home, going 2-1-1, while being 1-1 in road fixtures.
