NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Carson-Newman forward Ben Dukes earned a Tennessee Sports Writers' Association state men's soccer player of the week honors following his four-goal week versus Newberry and Wingate, the organization announced earlier this week.

This is Dukes' second career honor and first weekly honor of his career.

The junior forward started his final week of October by scoring three goals, all of which came in the second half, in a 8-0 win versus Newberry on Oct 23. Dukes helped lead what was the program's most goals in a game under head coach Stephen Lyons and the most in a game since scoring nine goals versus Cumberland (TN) in 2007. The scoring effort was the sixth-most in a single-game in program history.

His hat trick is the first hat trick since Thaylan Silva's versus Erskine on September 8th, 2021. He scored his three goals in exactly 20 minutes and 15 seconds, the third fastest hat trick in the past 15 seasons. It's just the fourth time that a hat trick has occurred all in one half. Tobias Solem Karlsen did it versus North Greenville in 2019, Taylor Jolley vs Newberry in 2011 and Thaylan Silva versus Erksine in 2021.

The Southampton, England native scored his fourth goal of the week in the 16th minute versus Wingate on Oct 26.

Dukes and the Eagles are back on the field tomorrow afternoon when they battle Anderson in a road contest. A live stream of the game is available with a subscription to FloSports at cneagles.com/flomsoc.
