ROCK HILL, S.C. – Asger Hartvig of the Carson-Newman Men's Swimming team earned a postseason honor following the South Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships this past Friday. Hartvig was awarded the South Atlantic Conference Elite 23 winner for Men's Swimming.
Modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award, the Elite 23 award honors the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at their championship venue. Hartvig earned this honor by boasting a 4.000 GPA, which was the highest GPA on the team.
At the SAC Championships this past week, Hartvig racked up his share of hardware in multiple events. Hartvig won two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal as well as setting a new school record in the 100-yard Breaststroke in a time of 53.63.
Asger Hartvig is a four-year member of the Eagles Swim team and played a major role as one of the senior leaders in 2024-25.
Lillie Martin from Catawba was named the SAC Elite 23 for women's swimming.
