JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman Swimming will send three athletes to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championships in Indianapolis Ind. after selections were released Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Carson-Newman secured three invitations to the 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championships when the list of qualifiers were released this past Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The three swimmers earning themselves an invitation were Asger Hartvig and Daniel de Oliviera for the men's side and Megan Corcoran for the women's. Also attending the championships meet is Will Humphreys and Arthur Gluzman who will be competing in relay events.
Asger Hartvig earned individual selection in the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breastroke and 200 IM events. Hartvig wrapped up the regular season with record breaking performances at the South Atlantic Conference Championships in early February. At the SAC Championships, Hartvig set a new school record in the 100 Breaststroke with a gold medal time of 53.60. Hartvig was named the SAC Men's Elite 23 winner for his athletic and academic prestige.
Daniel de Oliveira collected his fair share of hardware at the SAC Championships this season. Oliveira won his first medal following the second night with a gold medal performance in the 100-yard Butterfly. Night four of the championships saw Oliveira secure a bronze finish in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Looking at the women's side, freshman swimmer Megan Corcoran earned herself an invitation for the 200-yard Butterfly, 200-yard IM and 400-yard IM. At the 2025 SAC Championships, Corcoran put together one of the best performances as a freshman. The SAC Championships saw Corcoran set a new school record in the 200-yard Butterfly in a first place time of 1:59.33. She would go on to secure gold medal finishes in the 400-yard IM, 200-Butterfly as well as silver medals in the 200-yard IM and 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Corcoran was named the SAC Women's Freshman Swimmer of the Year. Joining the Eagles nationals squad is Will Humphreys and Arthur Gluzman to accompany the team for the 400-yard Freestyle Relay.
The 2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championships begin March 11 - 15 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Championships will take place at the Indiana University Natatorium with start times TBA.
