INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Carson-Newman swimmers Megan Corcoran and Daniel de Oliveira rounded out day three of the NCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships. Earlier in the day, the Eagles performed well in the preliminary round.
Daniel de Oliveira made his first appearance of the week, competing in the 100-yard butterfly event. Oliveira delivered a stellar performance, finishing in 9th place with a time of 46.94. Live results can be found HERE.
On the women's side, Megan Corcoran swam the 400-yard IM in a time of 4:21.74, which earned her a 10th-place finish in the preliminary round. Live results can be found HERE.
Entering the finals round, Oliveira's prelim landed him in the 100-yard butterfly consolation finals, where he ended the night with a time of 47.12, securing a 13th-place finish. Megan Corcoran's prelim in the 400-yard IM earned her a spot in the consolation final, where she swam a time of 4:26.41, finishing 16th overall.
Day four of the NCAA Championships kicks off Friday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m. for the preliminary round and 5:30 p.m. for the finals round. The Eagles will send Megan Corcoran to the pool for the 200-yard butterfly and Asger Hartvig for the 100-yard breaststroke tomorrow.
