JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman (1-3-1, 0-2) looks to get back on track when it welcomes Emory & Henry (1-1-3, 0-0-1) to McCown field tomorrow night for a South Atlantic Conference matchup.

Tomorrow night's league match will be C-N's final September home match, as it plays the final three games of the month on the road.

Carson-Newman enters the matchup on a two-game losing streak to begin league play. The Eagles have dropped their first two SAC matches and have been outscored 0-3.

Felicia Frick (Eschen, Liechtenstein) has a team-high two goals, both of which were scored in the season-opening win over North Greenville. Six other Eagles have pitched into the scoring through five games. Addie Henry (Chattanooga, Tenn) has a team-high two assists and has 13 in her career. 15 different Eagles have played in all five matches this season.

The Eagles defeated the Wasps in last season's first all-time meeting 6-0. C-N scored three goals in the first half and three more in the second half in route to blanking E&H. Selin Jud (Wilderswil, Switzerland) scored her first career goals in the blowout victory. C-N set season-highs for shots (33) and shots on goal (15) in the win.

Simon Duffy led C-N teams have sported an excellent 43-13-5 record against SAC foes the past six seasons.

In its first year at the DII level and in the SAC, Emory & Henry went 0-9-2 in league play last season. It does enter the matchup off its best stretch since making the transition. The Wasps have impressed through the first five games of the 2023 season. After suffering a 2-0 season opening loss to Shaw, the Wasps have found a rhythm and enter Wednesday's match on a four-match unbeaten streak. The one win this year came on Sept 9 at home against Bluefield State 3-2. E&H scored the game's first three goal in the victory. It played to a 1-1 tie with Newberry on Saturday in its SAC opener.

With the Wasps having just one loss, it will be Carson-Newman fifth straight match against a team with one loss or less.

Adrienne Harris has a team high two goals, with four others pitching in the scoring column as well. The Wasps have bounced between Ava Puskas and Adriana Rehg in goal. Both have allowed three goals, with Rehg making the most saves with 13.

Tomorrow's match will be one of three occasions where the women's soccer team will play the nightcap starting at 7:30 p.m. from McCown field. The game can be streamed on FloSports with a subscription.
