JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The NCAA released their second batch of women's soccer region rankings earlier today, with Carson-Newman women's soccer listed as number ten in the Southeast region.

The region rankings are determined by strength of schedule, in-region record, in-region RPI, in-region strength of schedule, and performance indicator.

The Southeast Region is made up of teams from the South Atlantic Conference, the Peach Belt Conference, and the Conference Carolinas.

Four other South Atlantic Conference schools are in the top ten, Anderson, Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Wingate. LR and Catawba are 1 and 2 respectively. The Bulldogs are 12-3-1 this season and slot in at number five. AU is in eighth place at 7-6-2.

Carson-Newman is 6-6-3 and has a 5-5-3 record in the region. Despite having the worst record among regional teams ranked, the Eagles have the best strength of schedule rating in the region with a .583 rating. All five region losses are to regionally ranked teams.

The Peach Belt has four teams regionally ranked. North Georgia is number 3 with a 13-2-2 record. Flagler falls right behind them in the rankings at number four and is 10-3-3 overall this season. Columbus State is sixth, while Lander sits as the first team out at number nine.

The only Conference Carolinas team listed is UNC Pembroke at number seven.

Each Wednesday the NCAA will release regional rankings up until the NCAA Tournament. Only eight teams from the Southeast region will make the NCAA tournament. Five at-large bids and the three tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas comprise the field.
