JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – When Carson-Newman (3-3-1, 2-2) continues South Atlantic Conference play tomorrow evening, it will try to extend a pair of impressive streaks against Mars Hill (3-2-1, 1-2)

A Carson-Newman victory against the Lions would be a third straight win and the ninth consecutive season with at least a three-game winning streak.

A Carson-Newman victory would also give C-N a 16th straight win over Mars Hill. The Eagles have won all 15 meetings against the Lions and have only allowed eight goals in those matches. On three occasions, Carson-Newman has won by just a goal, two of those have come on the road.

After suffering two losses to begin SAC play, C-N has recorded back to back wins to find itself in third place in the standings.

C-N exploded offensively in last year's victory. Felicia Frick scored in the 37th minute to give C-N a halftime lead. Savannah Fields booted home a goal in the 58th minute, which was followed by a Marianne Ross goal to bring the Lions within one. The Eagles wasted no time regaining a two-goal lead, as Sydnee Duncan sent a shot underneath the keeper in the 68th minute to make the score 3-1 C-N. Jente Kuper capped the scoring in the 72nd minute with a shot that deflected off a defender and into goal.

Simon Duffy's team enters the road match coming off its best defensive performance of the year. Danielle Lacy (Rochester, Ill.) made four saves to help the team record its first clean sheet of the season. C-N limited Coker to just seven shots and three corner kicks in the match.

Felicia Frick (Eschen, Liechtenstein) has been excellent for C-N's offense. After scoring two goals in the season opener, she has tallied four assists in the last five games, including assists in back to back games. Cameron Giles (Chattanooga, Tenn) and Abbie Zander (Baneberry, Tenn.) also have two goals this year in seven games.

Playing in just four games so far this season, Alba Delgado (Oviedo, Spain) has contributed efficiently with three goals on just four shots on frame. C-N's offense ranks third in the conference in goals and assists this season.

Mars Hill got off to an excellent start to begin the season. The Lions defeated Lees-McRae, Converse and Coker by 1-0 tallies to start the year 3-0. After a tie with Young Harris, the Lions have taken a step back by dropping their last two matches to Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne.

Mars Hill is tied for fourth in the SAC in shutouts (3) this season. Goalkeeper Camryn Miller has 23 saves in six matches, allowing just five goals.

Offensively, the Lions rank last in several offensive categories. Four different players have pitched in for the team's four goals this season. Mars Hill is just one win away from matching its win total from 2022.

Kick off is set for 5:00 p.m. from Meares Stadium. The game can be streamed on FloSports with a subscription. Fans can also follow along to @CN_Eagles on Twitter and Instagram for in-game updates.
