JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Young Harris for a non-conference matchup tomorrow evening.

Carson-Newman is aiming to continue an impressive stretch tomorrow evening. The Eagles have not lost back-to-back games since the beginning of the 2018 season. After a loss the past four seasons, C-N has bounced back or at least tied with its next opponent.

Dating back to the end of 2022, over its last three games, Duffy's team has allowed exactly three goals. Prior to this stretch, his teams had only conceded that many goals seven times.

Four different Eagles have combined to score the team's five goals to begin 2023, all of which came in the season opener.

Through the first two games of 2023, C-N has played 20 different players with only Noel Criser (West Yarmouth, Ma) playing all 180 minutes so far.

Under Duffy, C-N is 26-11-4 on the road, going 3-2-2 last season.

The Eagles won last year's meeting in Mossy Creek. The match was scoreless through the first 52 minutes, before Maja Bengtsson changed that with a shot in the upper right corner to make it 1-0 C-N. The Eagles poured in three more goals from the 75th minute to the 80th minute to win comfortably 4-0. C-N had 20 shots and sent 10 on goal to YHC's six shots and one on goal.

The two teams are set to face each other for the third straight season, with the home team winning each of those matchups. Carson-Newman leads the all-time series 4-2, with its last win at Young Harris coming on October 14, 2015.

Young Harris has started 2023 with a win and a draw. It defeated Shorter on opening day 4-2 and then played West Georgia to a scoreless draw in YHC's home opener on Sunday. The Mountain Lions are coming off a season where it finished with a 4-11 record.

This will be Young Harris's first season in Conference Carolinas. It has been picked ninth in the preseason poll, receiving 79 points.

Four different players have scored a goal this season, but none of the goals have been assisted on.

Kaylie Hayes and McKenna Peaster each have started one game in goal with Peaster putting up the clean sheet.

YHC is set to face two SAC teams in its non-conference slate, Carson-Newman and Mars Hill.
