JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Blair Cherry has been named the WePlayed Sports SAC Offensive Player of the Week for the week of September 30.

The South Atlantic Conference has announced that Blair Cherry has been named the conference's offensive player of the week after her performances in matches against Limestone, Tusculum, and UVA-Wise.

Cherry highlighted her week on the road against Tusculum, where she came just a single kill from the first triple-double in Carson-Newman program history. Cherry cemented her career match with a 55-assist effort in the win over the Pioneers.

She added her second double-double of the weekend on Saturday afternoon in the sweep of UVA-Wise. Cherry collected 31 assists and ten digs in the win over the Highland Cavaliers.

Cementing her status atop the SAC's offensive players this week was that Cherry broke onto the Carson-Newman leaderboard for career assists, passing both Jennifer Hyde and Holly Barnham for tenth and ninth places, respectively.

Cherry has 494 assists on the season and 1,217 assists in her career.

During the week, she collected 113 assists for 10.27 assists per set across the three matches for Carson-Newman.

Thanks to Cherry's efforts, Carson-Newman is 9-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference play currently riding a four-match winning streak. The Eagles take on Catawba at Holt Fieldhouse on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. before hitting the road for a three-match road trip beginning with Mars Hill on Friday night.
