Red-Hot Eagles Face LMU in Harrogate on Wednesday Night

MATCH NOTES

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman takes its perfect conference record and a six-match winning streak on the road at Lincoln Memorial, attempting to go 8-0 in conference play for the first time since 2002.

Carson-Newman (11-3, 7-0 SAC) is on a red-hot run, taking on Lincoln Memorial (9-4, 3-3 SAC) for the second time this season in Harrogate on Wednesday night.

Throughout the Eagles' winning streak, Carson-Newman has not allowed its opponents to have a hitting percentage over .100.

Lincoln Memorial is coming off a four-set home loss to [RV] Lenoir-Rhyne after a three-match winning streak, including a five-set upset win over [RV] Wingate.

Carson-Newman will see familiar faces for the first time this season. The Splitters faced LMU in the early portion of the season, winning four sets at Holt Fieldhouse on Sept. 10. The match with the Eagles served as a wake-up call for the Splitters, who had not lost a set before visiting Mossy Creek.

The Railsplitters are led by first-year head coach John Cash, who built Lincoln Memorial Men's Volleyball into a powerhouse before deciding to take over the women's program this offseason.

LMU is led individually by graduate outside Kristen Moehring, who has collected 197 kills on the season for 4.64 kills per set, which ranks top of the conference. The top setter for the Splitters is sophomore Lauren Pickett, with 476 assists for 9.71 assists per set, which ranks second in the conference, right behind C-N's Blair Cherry.

Defensively, senior middle Agata Bogdanska leads Lincoln Memorial in blocks with 56 blocks for 1.14 per set. At the same time, freshman Lauren Jacob serves as the primary libero, collecting 201 digs for 4.10 digs per set.

Carson-Newman, despite winning ten straight matches over the Splitters, still trails the all-time series 32-27. However, first-year head coach Cat Collins won her first meeting with LMU, handing Railsplitters head coach John Cash his first career loss at the helm of Lincoln Memorial. Freshmen Emerson Ahsmuhs (Placentia, Calif.) and Maddie Hurst (Blaine, Tenn.) led the Eagles with 18 and 12 kills, respectively.

First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. from Mary Mars Gymnasium in Harrogate, Tenn. Those not making the trip to Harrogate can watch the match with a subscription on FloSports.
