Eagles open spring practice Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman football opens up spring practice Wednesday with the first of 15 sessions at Burke-Tarr Stadium. 

All Carson-Newman spring practices and scrimmages are open to the public, they culminate with the Eagles' annual spring game on April 4 at 1 p.m. inside Burke-Tarr Stadium. 

"We've had the guys working out the past couple weeks with weights," Carson-Newman first-year head football coach Mike Clowney said. "They've responded well in those areas. The biggest thing will be about seeing how they respond and react once we get them on the field."

Carson-Newman will also play host to scrimmages on March 21st and March 28th.

All weekday practice sessions are slated for 4:30 start times.  The Eagles practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with one Saturday practice session March 14. The rest of the practice sessions are occupied by the scrimmages and spring game.
