JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman freshman defensive back Makhi Shaw turned in the top highlight from the football program's annual media day situational scrimmage Saturday morning at Burke-Tarr Stadium.
Shaw jumped in front of a drag route at the goal line to snare an interception during the goal line portion of the scrimmage.
The offense found the end zone with a 12-yard touchdown completion to Gianni Magdos and a pounding four-yard toss sweep to CJ Puckett.
The scrimmage wrapped up with one-minute and two-minute drill drive scenarios.
Carson-Newman has five days of camp remaining before gameweek preparations begin for the opening game of the Ashley Ingram era.
