KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Carson-Newman football fell in both AFCA and D2Football.com polls after losing to Emory & Henry Saturday, but remained in both organization's top 25 in the coaches and media polls released Monday.
Carson-Newman dropped eight spots to 25th in the D2Football.com poll and seventh spots to 24th in the AFCA poll.
The South Atlantic Conference has three teams ranked. Lenoir-Rhyne moves up to 12th in the coaches poll and 16th in the media poll. Emory & Henry breaks into the media poll following its win over C-N at 23.
Wingate, whom C-N defeated earlier in the season, is receiving votes in the coaches poll, as are the Wasps.
This is Carson-Newman's 149th week ranked since the year 2000 by either D2Football.com or the AFCA. Carson-Newman has been nationally ranked more than any other league institution since the turn of the century.
C-N was ranked in the month of September (outside of a preseason poll) for the first time since 2014. Carson-Newman has been ranked for six weeks this season, the most since C-N was ranked in nine polls in the 2014 season.
C-N will be in action Saturday at 3 p.m. against Anderson on Homecoming Saturday.
