JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team pulled out a 5-4 victory over Brevard on Friday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action. \

With the win, C-N improves to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

The Eagles started the day with two doubles victories. C-N's duo of Rodolfo Schwarz (Brazil) and Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.) defeated Dorian Feron and Scott McCormick, 8-2, while Adriano Kira (Brazil) and Chris Acker (Knoxville, Tenn.) downed Andrew Thompson and Jonathan Kuhn by a score of 8-2 in No. 3 doubles.

Slagle, Kira and Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) then garnered singles wins for the Eagles to secure the victory.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday at Mars Hill. Match time is set for noon.
