MARS HILL, NC – In its last match of the regular season, No. 42 Carson-Newman (12-5, 10-2 SAC) cruised past Mars Hill (1-15, 1-11 SAC), 7-0.

The Eagles dominated singles play, winning every match in straight-set fashion. Marnix Van Dalen was challenged in both sets at the No. 1 spot but prevailed to earn the straight-set win. Outside of Van Dalen's match, the Mountain Lions came no closer than three games in each of the remaining sets with the Eagles.

No. 2: Marc Janse (C-N) def. Diego Lopez (MHU), 6-2/6-2

No. 3: Gjorgji Jankulovski (C-N) def. Emiel Tidman (MHU), 6-0/6-3

No. 4: Lars Hordijk (C-N) def. Paul-Antoine Pelzer (MHU), 8-2

No. 5: Paul Gayk (C-N) def. Youssef Arduoni (MHU), 6-1/6-2

No. 6: Matthew Saunders (C-N) def. Chase Jorensen (MHU), 8-0

Mars Hill earned its only win of the day in doubles, but C-N still nabbed the point with wins at the top two spots. The Eagles once again showed dominance in the top two doubles positions, surrendering only one game between the two matches.

No. 2: Janse/Gayk (C-N) def. Martinez/Ardouni (MHU), 6-1

No. 3: Lopez/Jorensen (MHU) def. Jankulovski/Saunders (C-N), 6-3

With the win, C-N earns its tenth conference victory and solidifies itself in third place in the South Atlantic Conference at the conclusion of the regular season. With the regular season concluded, the Eagles will take a few days to prepare for the SAC Championships, kicking off on Thursday.
