BRISTOL, Tenn. – Kicking off a three-match week, Carson-Newman (7-4, 5-1 SAC) took care of business on the road, defeating Emory & Henry (2-11, 0-6 SAC), 4-0.
Playing until clinch, the Eagles' three singles matches were smooth sailing, as Marc Janse, Lars Hordijk, and Matthew Saunders all earned straight-set wins. While Marnix Van Dalen, Gjorgji Jankulovski, and Paul Gayk did not get the chance to compete in singles play, they will have fresh legs for the upcoming matches this week.
"It worked out well for us as far as keeping players off the court," head coach Jon Parker said. "With us playing at home tomorrow and playing to clinch, I hope the results will be the same tomorrow."
