Eagles Down Catawba Indians, 7-2, In SAC Action

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -  Carson-Newman defeated Catawba by a score of 7-2 in the Eagles' 2010 South Atlantic Conference opener.  The tone was set early as the Eagles swept the doubles matches and then took four of the six singles matches.  Rodolfo Schwarz (BRAZIL), Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.), and Adriano Kira (BRAZIL) won both doubles and singles matches to lead the Eagles.  The Eagles are now 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.  Next up for the Eagles is Wingate in Jefferson City on March 20.  Match time is 11 a.m.
