MARS HILL, N.C. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 8-6 overall and finish their South Atlantic Conference schedule with a record of 4-4.
Mars Hill gained the momentum by taking two of the three doubles points, and then swept the top four singles positions to seal the win.
Winners for C-N were the team of sophomore Rodolfo Schwarz (Brazil) and junior Trent Slagle (Knoxville, Tenn.) in No. 1 doubles, freshman Derek Holdway (Woodstock, Ga.) in No. 5 singles and freshman Paul Birdsong (Woodstock, Ga.) in No. 6 singles.
The Eagles return to action on Friday against the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.
