Final Box Score

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Carson-Newman men's tennis (3-3, 2-0 SAC) is back at .500 for the season after taking the 4-3 victory over the Coker Cobras (1-5, 0-2 SAC) Thursday. The Eagles started the day off winning the doubles point and from there, it was back-and-forth to gain every point and claim the overall victory.

Grad student Gabriel Dabdab (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) notched his third singles victory on the season at number 5 singles. Meanwhile, Dabdab and sophomore Ids Waterbolk (Bennekom, Netherlands) claim their second consecutive number one singles triumph to start off SAC play. The pair has played together in every match this season, marking an overall record of 3-3 to match the team record.

In his 2021 singles career, Janse has battled back to a .500 record after claiming his second straight singles victory from number 2, this time by 6-7, 6-4. 6-2. Janse has been the number two singles player the last two matches, which has given the team a big boost in support.

The other victory for C-N came from grad student Julian Froehlich (Kobenz, Austria) who was playing at number five singles and number two doubles. Entering Thursday, Froehlich was 3-2 in singles and 1-4 in doubles alongside Oka. In Thursday's match, he was the match which gave C-N a crucial tie late into matchplay. After Froehlich won 6-0, 6-2 the Eagles needed a win by Waterbolk, which gave them the victory and kept them undefeated in SAC action so far.
