Dominance Continues for Unbeaten Eagles

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Carson-Newman beach volleyball (11-0) close out February with a perfect record for the second time in program history after a 5-0 dub over Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday, Feb. 25th.

The only other occurrence where the Eagles had a perfect record for an entire month was in February of 2020 when they won three straight on their way to a shortened 6-1 season. Carson-Newman recorded their seventh 5-0 sweep of the season so far. Their previous program record was five (2016, 2022).

Truth Hafey and Sierra Still handled the one spot for the Eagles for the 11th time this season. They defeated Zuzanna Michalska and Delaney Castro in sets of 21-17 and 21-13. Still collected her 35th career victory.

Abbey Hildenbrand and Ava Fountain won their 11th straight match of the season when they took on Kendall Meinders and Aurora Aho in the two spot. The Eagles won in sets of 21-11 and 21-13.

Mia Toribio and Taylor paired up in the three spot for the third time this season. The duo won in sets of 21-16 and 21-11. Toribio ties Lindsey Geurin for the third-most win in program history with 31.

In the four, Julia Wheeler and Mckenna Hall lined up against Marrit Preusting and Mya Johnson. The Eagles won in sets of 21-11 and 21-7. The duo has won by 10 or more points 13 times this season.

Piper Halcrow and Kenzie Palmer paired up for the first time this season to take on Callie Wzorek and Racquel Talley. The Eagles won in sets of 21-7 and 21-10.

Madeline Holmes and Ashlyn Phair played an exhibition match against Elina Harper and Sidney Russell. The Eagles won in sets of 21-6 and 21-3. The pair's 42-9 overall score is the largest difference in a matchup this season.

The Eagles will head to Laurinburg, N.C., to take on Lynchburg (3-5) and Bob Jones University (0-0) on Friday, Mar. 3rd. The Eagles will face off against St. Andrews (3-5) and Bob Jones on Saturday, Mar. 4th.
