Eagles Rise To The Top Following First Conference Weekend

SALISBURY, N.C. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball puts on a clinic going 4-0 at the first SAC/CC conference weekend of the 2025 season.
C-N made a statement this past weekend in Salisbury, N.C. at Catawba College in the first conference weekend of the season. The four teams present at the meet were Catawba, Erskine, Emmanuel and Wingate. The Eagles took over the meet going 4-0 on the weekend, cementing themselves at the top of the conference.
"We had a great weekend," said head coach Cat Collins. "I am beyond proud of our team. Each pair improved and excelled this weekend. Looking forward to fine tuning a few things this weekend and continuing our growth."
The first matchup of the weekend saw C-N battle against Catawba, the host school of the weekend. Catawba caught its only loss of the season to the Eagles following this weekend. Carson-Newman secured a 4-1 victory over the Catawba Indians with the only loss coming in the first flight.

The second day of the weekend saw the Eagles take on Emmanuel in a head fought match. Despite dropping a few matches, C-N pulled out the win over the Lions 3-2.

To close out the weekend, C-N wraps up with a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Wingate Bulldogs in the first meeting between the two schools in beach volleyball. C-N took the victory 5-0 over the Bulldogs in a sweep.
