Red Hot Eagles Continue Dominance in Neutral Site Matchups

LAURINBURG, N.C. - Carson-Newman beach volleyball (13-0) extends their longest winning streak in program history with wins over Lynchburg University and Bob Jones University on Friday, Mar. 3rd.

The Eagles earned their ninth sweep of their season. Their previous best in a single season was five (2022, 2016). The Blue and Orange won the pair of competitions without dropping a single set.

C-N 5, Lynchburg 0

Sierra Still and Truth Hafey picked up their 10th win of the season when they matched up against Jordan Palmer and Kailey Keough. The Eagles won in sets of 21-19 and 21-15 in the contest's closest game.

Abbey Hildenbrand and Ava Fountain continued their perfect season when they took on Mady Shirley and SJ Yanz in the two spot. The Eagles won in sets of 21-10 and 21-7.

Mia Toribio and Taylor Keeran saw Margo Fox and Amanda Trapp in the three position. The Eagles won in sets of 21-13 and 21-18.

McKenna Hall and Julia Wheeler notched the biggest blowout of the season when they faced off against Parker Lynch and Mackenze Ingrassia. The Eagles won the first set 21-18 before running rampant in the second set to win 21-2.

Jenny Ille and Piper Halcrow rounded out the lineup in the five spot against Molly Ballew and Landon Spotts. They easily defeated their foes in sets of 21-8 and 21-6.

C-N 5, BJU 0

Hafey and Still took on Faith Blalock and Timbre Cruz in the one spot. The Eagles won back-to-back 21-18 sets to advance to 11-2 on the year. Still adds to her program record of 37 career wins.

Fountain and Hildenbrand matched up against Andrea Villaverde and Emma Riddle in the two spot. The Eagles dominated in sets of 21-12 and 21-5, advancing to 13-0 on the year.

In the three spot, Keeran and Toribio faced off against Anna Fleming and Emily Lewis. The Eagles duo won in sets of 21-10 and 21-12. Toribio has won four straight after dropping her season debut against Tennessee Tech.

Hall and Wheeler dominated in their second action of the day. The pair matched up against Sophia Vosburgh and Holly Taylor in the four spot. The Eagles went on to win in sets of 21-4 and 21-6. Hall and Wheeler outscored their opponents 84-30 on the day.

Ille and Halcrow rounded out the day with a matchup against Anne Lloyd and Maddy Goldstrom in the five. The Eagles won in sets of 21-6 and 21-7. The pair outscored their opponents 84-27, marking the largest margin on the day.

Carson-Newman returns to action on Saturday, Mar. 4th, against St. Andrews University (3-8) at 9:00 A.M. before seeing Bob Jones (0-2) at 1:00 P.M.
