LYNCHBURG, Va. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball splits the second day of the Liberty Invitational with a win over Lynchburg and a hard fought matchup with the Liberty Flames.
The Eagles took the court against Lynchburg for the second time this season after first defeating the Hornets on the opening weekend of the season. C-N repeated their score from its last match against Lynchburg with a final of 4-1. The Eagles only loss came in the fourth flight which went to extra sets.

The last matchup of the weekend came when the Eagles went head-to-head against the Liberty Flames. C-N opened the 2024 season taking on Liberty where the Flames won a close match with a final of 3-2. The Flames ended the weekend going 4-1 over the Eagles with the only win coming by the way of Emerson Ahsmuhs and Trinity Hafey in the second flight.

The Eagles improve to 7-4 on the season with all of their losses coming by Division I programs. Carson-Newman got back on the courts on Friday, March 7 - 8 in Salisbury, N.C. for the first Conference Weekend at Catawba College. The Eagles kick off the weekend at 8:00 a.m. against the Catawba Indians and finish day one taking on Erskine at 12:30 p.m. The second day sees the Eagles face off with the Emmanuel Lions at 11:00 a.m. and wrap up the weekend against the Wingate Bulldogs starting at 2:00 p.m.
