Unbeaten Beach Volleyball Takes on Erskine and Morehead St. in Home Opener

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman beach volleyball (15-0) will look to break the program record for wins in a season after matchups with Erskine (1-1) and Morehead St. (3-1) on Saturday, Mar. 11th.

The Eagles set the record for the most wins in a season last season during their 15-14 campaign, which saw the Eagles reach the AVCA Small College Championship Third Place Game. The Eagles lost to Saint Leo 4-1.

Carson-Newman is playing in their first home game of the season. The Eagles were 6-0 last season on the banks of Mossy Creek.

The Eagles are led by Truth Hafey and Sierra Still, a pair that has played in the one spot for each game this season. The top duo is 13-2 on the year. Carson-Newman features two sets of pairs that are unbeaten so far this season. Ava Fountain and Abbey Hildenbrand have won 15 straight in the two spot. McKenna Hall and Julia Wheeler are also 15-0 but have split their time between the three and the four spot. Piper Halcrow and Ashlyn Phair remain unbeaten at 6-0. Jenny Ille and Halcrow are also unbeaten at 5-0.

Erskine began the year with a 5-0 victory over Spartanburg Methodist. They went on to lose to Liberty University 3-2. The Flying Fleet finished last season 15-14 in their third season in program history.

Morehead St. began the season with a 3-2 victory over Liberty. They lost their only matchup of the season against Austin Peay in a 3-2 contest. They beat Liberty 4-1 and took down Eastern Kentucky in their most recent action 4-1. Morehead St. Finished last season 12-11, including a 3-2 loss in the OVC Championship match to UT Martin.

The Eagles lost their most recent competition against Erskine in a tightly contested 3-2 match on Mar. 13th, 2021. Carson-Newman won their most recent matchup against Morehead St. in a 5-0 competition on Mar. 2nd of, 2019.

Action begins at 11:00 P.M. against Erskine, followed by a 3:00 P.M. matchup with Morehead St.
