LYNCHBURG, Va. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball took the opening day of the Liberty Invitational by storm with two consecutive sweeps over Richard Bland and Lancaster Bible College.
The Eagles got off to a hot start following day one of the Liberty Invitational where C-N went head-to-head with Richard Bland and Lancaster Bible College. These matches marked the first ever meeting between C-N and both colleges in beach volleyball.
Carson-Newman is coming off a hard fought weekend at Coastal Carolina where the Eagles split sets 2-2. The team looked to change the script heading into the meet at Liberty University this weekend.
C-N's first test of the weekend came against the Richard Bland Statesmen which began at 12:00 p.m. at the East Athletic Complex in Lynchburg, Va. This marks the first ever meeting between the Eagles and the Statesmen in beach volleyball. After the loss to Carson-Newman today, the Statesman fell to 0-3 on the season.

Later in the afternoon, Carson-Newman took the courts against its second opponent, the Charges of Lancaster Bible College Club Team at 2:00 p.m. This will be the first meeting between C-N and Lancaster Bible College. After the first day of the Liberty Invitational, the Chargers currently sit with an 0-2 record with losses to C-N and Lynchburg.
