JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Carson-Newman cross country's Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn.) and women's soccer's Holly Talbut-Smith (Crawley, England) have been named the Chick-Fil-A Male and Female Athletes of the Week.

Lachlan Dickie (Knoxville, Tenn) kicked off Carson-Newman's cross country season on a high note. The sophomore came in first place at the Victor Ashe Fall Classic on Saturday, finishing with a time of 16:24.7.

The five-kilometer race featured 68 runners from six schools. Dickie's first place finish was the second of his career and helped pace Carson-Newman to a third place overall finish in the meet.

The Knoxville, Tenn. native averaged a 5:16.9 mile and finished 16 seconds faster than the second place finisher

Holly Talbut-Smith's (Crawley, England) first weekend in the Blue and Orange was a memorable on one for the Crawley, England-native. Talbut-Smith's debut against Trevecca Nazrene ended with her first-career game-winning goal as she beat the Trojans' keeper in the 86th-minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 win.

She added an assist in the 3-1 win over Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday afternoon as Nikki McWilliams finished Talbut-Smith's low cross for the final goal of the day.

Talbut-Smith totaled nine shots over the course of the two contests with six of her shots landing on frame.
