JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman head women's soccer coach Richard Moodie has unveiled the 2016 schedule for the defending South Atlantic Conference champion C-N women's soccer program.

The slate features Carson-Newman away from home for seven of the first nine games of the year.

"It's a tough schedule and like we did with the boys, you have a challenging nonconference schedule to go with a tough league schedule," Moodie said. "We try to put teams on there that go to help your regional rankings.  Last year we bubble-wrapped them to allow for success at home, now, we have to return the games. We had success last year on the road, only one loss last year came away from McCown Field. This schedule will challenge a little more for sure."

Carson-Newman opens the year Thursday Sept. 1 at Trevecca Nazarene before opening up the home schedule Saturday Sept. 3 against Lees-McRae.

C-N then hits the road for four straight, including three out-of-conference.  Road trips to Alabama-Huntsville, Francis Marion and USC Aiken conclude the majority of nonconference play by Sept. 12.  The Eagles round out their four-game roadie in the Palmetto State Sept. 17 in their SAC opener against Newberry.

October sees Carson-Newman at home far more frequently than the first month of the season.

The Eagles will challenge Anderson at McCown Field on Oct. 1 before finishing up their nonconference schedule with King Oct. 5.

Three of the final four regular season games are at home.  The Eagles have midweek rivalry games with Tusculum and Lincoln Memorial Oct. 19 and Oct. 25 before finishing out the home slate with senior day Oct. 29 on homecoming weekend against Coker.
