JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman women's soccer team (9-2) heads to the state of Georgia for the first time since 2013 as they travel to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Complex to play the Young Harris Mountain Lions (3-6) Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.

The Eagles are capping a five-match road trip in the Peach State and C-N will look to end the stretch at a 4-1 record. Carson-Newman is second in the South Atlantic Conference while YHC is 10th in the Peach Belt.

Young Harris enters the contest having lost its last match on Saturday 3-0 on the road at Armstrong State. YHC has lost to No. 19 Columbus State and No. 4 North Georgia and is 2-3 in their last five contests.

Emily Ober leads the Mountain Lions with eight goals on the year. The sophomore has three multi-goal games on the year and scored YHC's two goals in the shutout win over Georgia College. Camila Neveleff, Amber Matthews and Regan Wilhite each have scored two goals or more on the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Arielle Charles was named the PBC Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 21st after recording a 10-save performance in a 1-0 loss to North Georgia. The Floridan has conceded 19 goals on the year but has recorded 61 saves. She has a .763 save percantage and made all nine starts for Young Harris.

Young Harris has the tendency to striker early rather than later. The Mountain Lions have scored 12 goals in the first 45 minutes of play, but have only scored six times in the final stanza. The Mountain Lions have allowed 155 shots on the season while just compiling 93. They have conceded 20 goals on the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Fraiture (Hebron, Ky.) has led the Eagles in the defensive third; Fraiture has not conceded a goal during the run of play in five halves. The lone goal the freshman allowed last week was a penalty kick after a foul in the box against the Catawba Indians. Fraiture is fourth in the SAC with a 1.09 goals against average on the year.

Carson-Newman and Young Harris kick off at 5 p.m. from the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Complex on Wednesday evening. A full box score and recap will be available on cneagles.com after the match.
