Veteran Eagle club looks to progress, starting with Young Harris

Jefferson City, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team, who is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2015 regular season, is set to serve this weekend as they host the Young Harris Mountain Lions Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

With the combination of young freshmen and seasoned veterans, Carson-Newman players aim to rebound from last year's defeat from the Mountain Lions.

"We are looking forward to the start of the season," coach Jean Love said of Saturday's match. "We return a veteran team for the men and have a few new guys that will help us out this year."

Seniors Garret Duron (Woodstock, GA) and Austin Mackay (Oak Ridge, TN) will lead this year's Eagle club who were picked to finish tied for 10th in the South Atlantic Conference.

In having weeks of intense practice schedules with high tempo and competition this past month, the Eagles are prepped and ready to begin their season.
