Eagles look to knock off rust against Newberry

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team (0-2) are set to open up South Atlantic Conference play Sunday as they host the Newberry Wolves (5-1, 2-1) at 1p.m. at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex.

Newberry, who currently sits fourth in the SAC standings, is off to an impressive start to the season. Its only loss thus far in the season has came against conference rival Queens in an 8-1 route.

Freezing rain, snow and ice have delayed the Carson-Newman club the past few weeks, as its last two matches have been postponed. An updated schedule has been displayed on the Carson-Newman tennis website.
Carson-Newman will have their hands full as they look for their first win of the season. The Eagles fell to Alabama - Huntsville 5-4 in their last competitive match, nearly two weeks ago.
The Eagles will look to shake off the rust and continue to improve, particularly in singles play, where they had a strong showing in their last outing.
