Eagles set for tilt against North Greenville

Eagles set for tilt against North Greenville

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Carson-Newman men's tennis team (1-4) will look to get back to its winning ways as they head to Tigerville, S.C. with a tilt with the North Greeneville Crusaders (3-4) Wednesday at 2 p.m.

The Eagles are coming off an 8-1 loss to the Anderson Trojans Monday in a match where C-N was held winless in singles matches.

North Greeneville University, who competes in the Conference Carolinas, was picked preseason to finish fifth by the head coaches around its league.

Coach Jean Love looks at this matchup against the non-conference Crusaders as a chance for her players to improve in many critical areas, including some consistency in her lineups.

Carson-Newman's lone win on the season came in a 5-4 defeat of the Brevard Tornados. This club has yet to jump out of the gates by winning multiple doubles and singles matches to put the pressure on their opponents. They will look to do this on Wednesday.

"This is a chance against a non-conference opponent to work on the process of competing and gaining some momentum before heading into this weekend and two big conference matches," Love said.
