TEMPE, Ariz. - Carson-Newman men's tennis (8-7) drops to 43rd in the ITA Division-II National Rankings. Marc Janse makes a reappearance on the list, coming in at no. 72 in the national singles rankings.
Men's tennis began last month unranked but climbed as high as no. 26 after taking down undefeated #17 Anderson in a 6-1 dismantling. The Eagles went on to defeat Coker 6-1 and Emory & Henry 6-1 but began April with a 6-1 loss to #36 Wingate.
Janse holds a record of 11-4 in singles play this season, including seven wins as Carson-Newman's one player. Janse collected his only win against a ranked opponent in Carson-Newman's season debut against #25 Belmont Abbey. Janse defeated #13 Xaveam Van Wijk 6-3, 6-7, and 10-1.
Carson-Newman competes against Lincoln Memorial University on Apr. 5th before traveling to Virginia-Wise on Apr. 7th.
