Jefferson City, Tenn. -  Carson-Newman women's tennis team will travel to the University of the Cumberlands Tournament, this Saturday at 9 a.m., to take on the host school, Reinhardt and Tennessee Wesleyan.

"This is our last competition of the fall, we're looking for some continued improvement and getting some more experience for the younger players. " coach Jean Love said, "The competition is going to be fierce, it's going to be a lot of good experience for our younger players and our returning players."  

Carson-Newman finished with a 14-6 overall record last season. It was there best finish since 2009 when they made it to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.  

The Eagles return two of their top three singles players in Ali Harris (12-7) and Jill Corsato (17-2).

The Eagles swept the tournament field last season beating University of the Cumberlands 7-2, Reinhardt 6-3, and Tennessee Wesleyan 8-1.  

The University of the Cumberlands Women's Tennis team finished last season with an overall record of 10-10.

The top returner for the Patriots is First Team NAIA All-American Isabella Dale, who finished last season with an 11-4 record.

The Patriots went 1-1 against this weekend's opponents losing to Carson-Newman 2-7, and beating Tennessee Wesleyan 5-3.

Reinhardt finished last season as Appalachian Athletic Conference Champions with an overall record of 12-5.

The Eagles return AAC Player of the Year Stanislava Klymova, who finished with a 7-1 record on the season.

Finished with a 1-1 record against this weekend's opponents, beating Tennessee Wesleyan 5-4 and losing to Carson-Newman 3-6.

Tennessee Wesleyan finished last season with an overall record of 11-9. The Bulldogs top returners are Katerina Saskova and Haruka Hirata.

Tennessee Wesleyan went 0-3 against this weekend's competition, lost to Carson-Newman 1-8, lost to the University of the Cumberlands 3-5, and to Reinhardt 4-5.
