Harris, Corsato-Owsianka named to preseason second-team All-SAC

Rock Hill, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference released its preseason all-conference teams and for the first time ever Carson-Newman had multiple players named to the teams.

"Both had a lot of success last year," coach Jean Love said, "Jill had a little more experience, and had a really good year at No.3 singles and No.1 doubles. Ali was a freshman last year and she got her feet wet, she had a lot of good experience that she learned from and is growing from."

This is Jill Corsato-Owsianka's first preseason award, last season Corsato-Owsianka was name to the postseason singles second team. The native from Düesseldorf, Germany went 17-2 at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles spots, and 14-6 in doubles play with partners Brooke Sanderson and Patricia Guerreiro.

"It's a great honor, we're going to work hard again this year," Corsato said.
Last season Ali Harris went 12-7 at No. 1 singles during her freshman campaign. Harris went 9-4 with doubles partner Brooke Sanderson, while picking up a second team all-conference nod in singles play.
"It means a lot to me going into my second full season," Harris said.
The last Eagle named to a preseason poll came in the 2013-14 season when Stefy Stand was named to the first team.
Carson-Newman opens the season on the road in Orlando, FL against Florida Tech at 11:30 a.m. on February 10th. The Eagles first home match is on February 24th against Tennessee Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
