Eagles look to win back-to-back matches for the first time during the 2017 season

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman women's tennis team looks to keep their winning ways alive against Coker on Saturday afternoon.

"Coker is an important conference test for us," Carson-Newman tennis coach Jean Love said. "We are dealing with illness. It looks like we will not be at full strength in singles or doubles. We will just do the best we can with what we have. It is still possible to win. We will have to play really well and take advantage of our opportunities."

Carson-Newman (2-4, 1-1) is coming off a 6-3 victory over fellow South Atlantic Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne. While Coker (3-3, 1-1) comes into the matchup after a 5-4 win against Pfeiffer.

The Eagles will look to snap a two-match losing streak to Coker on Saturday. The last win for Carson-Newman was a 9-0 sweep during the 2014 season.

Ali Harris (Crossville, Tenn.) and Jill Corsato-Owsianka (Germany) have gotten off to slow starts this season, both have a 2-4 record coming into the weekend. Corsato-Owsianka is the only Eagle with a victory against Coker. Sydney Ledington (Corbin, Ky.) is the only other returning Eagle with playing experience.
