CONWAY, S.C. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball wrapped up day one of the weekend trip to Coastal Carolina which saw the Eagles go winless against two division I programs.
C-N took the courts at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. on Friday, Feb. 21 beginning with a matchup against University of Louisiana Monroe at 8:00 a.m. this morning. In the first meeting between the Eagles and the Warhawks since C-N's inaugural beach volleyball season in 2015, Carson-Newman fell 0-5 in a slow start on the road.

"The first game today we did not show up," said head coach Cat Collins. "The way we finished the day in the second game is how we want to start tomorrow. The second game we played hard and fought, that's who this team is and needs to be for every game."
Later in the afternoon, the Eagles took on the hosting Chanticleers for the fifth ever meeting between the two programs. Coastal Carolina continued their win streak over C-N with a sweep 5-0 win.

Carson-Newman returns to the Coastal Carolina Volleyball complex tomorrow, Feb. 22 at 12:00 p.m. where the Eagles will face the Erskine Flying Fleet. In the final match of the trip, C-N takes on the College of Charleston Cougars at 2:00 p.m.
